The Toolstation Northern Counties East League is to end immediately, with promotion and relegation potentially decided by points-per-game ratios.
That is the decision made by the FA after the Step 5/6 leagues meeting and whether to apply PPG or void the season will be decided by the leagues committees later.
It is unclear which way it will go, but the Western League who have close ties with the NCEL are advocating voiding the season and restarting it when the green light is given.
Yorkshire clubs Penistone Church, Yorkshire Amateur, Liversedge, Hemsworth Miners Welfare, Bridlington Town, Selby Town, North Ferriby, Campion and Emley (in the North West Counties) all have a chance of promotion under a PPG system.
But if the season is voided, all their hard work will go to waste.
Nothing was decided at yesterdays meeting. Yesterday’s meeting was to hear peoples views. What ever is decided clubs must accept and move on. There’s a bigger problem that needs resolving first.
