Jason Dodsworth and Simon Houghton have left Nostell Miners Welfare on amicable terms.
The pair leave Nostell after almost three years in charge and the club has gone from bottom of the Toolstation NCEL Division One to being promotion challengers under their guidance.
The parting of ways happened on Monday night and Houghton said he is proud of what has been achieved during his and Dodsworth’s tenure.
“Myself and Jason have had discussions with the club and we have decided to go our separate ways,” Houghton told Non League Yorkshire.
“We’d like to place on record our thanks to everyone at the club. We have made some great friends who we will always remember. We’d like to thank (chairman) Kevin (Allsop) for his support too.
“The players and ex-players deserve praise for lifting the club to where it is now. The standards have risen and the club is in a lot better shape than what it was in when we took over.”
Nostell chairman Kevin Allsop confirmed the news and said: “I thanked Simon and Jason for their hard work and I wish them all the best. You look at where the club was when they took over and where it is now they deserve a lot of credit. The whole picture is different.”
Allsop said the club is open to applications, but there is no timescale as to when a new appointment will be made.
Houghton plans to speak more in-depth about the highlights of his and Dodsworth’s reign in the coming days.
