Albion Sports winger Joe Thornton has committed to Yorkshire Amateur for when the new Toolstation NCEL Premier Division season.
Thornton is the cousin of former Brighouse Town star Ben Thornton and the son of Gary Thornton, the former Batley Bulldogs legend who is currently the head coach of Hunslet RL.
Thornton has previously played for Brighouse as well in this country. He has also played for Northern Fury in Australia and for HT Sports, one of Leeds’ greatest Sunday League outfits.
Ambitious Ammers have retained most of their side from last season and have gained committals from Ross Killock and long-serving Garforth Town captain marvel James Beaston, along with midfielder Luke Sharry who plans to return to the club.
