Former Ossett United attacker Marko Basic is one of a trio signings made by Tadcaster Albion manager Paul Quinn.
Ossett did want to lose Basic as he was one of their best players during a difficult season in the NPL Division One North. The highly-rated youngster previously played Halifax Town’s youth team and he of course knows Quinn because he was Ossett’s assistant manager until last November.
35-year-old midfielder Simon Russell is also a stand-out signing. He played in the 2009 FA Trophy Final for York City during the Martin Foyle era. That game stands out as it was future Leeds United striker Steve Morison’s final match for victorious Stevenage. Russell spent last season with Gainsborough Trinity.
Ify Ofoegbu, a former Chesterfield striker is the third signing. He played youth football for Chesterfield before making five first appearances. Apart from a few games for Sheffield & Hallamshire Senior League outfit Wakefield AFC last season, he has been out of the game for a bit. Now he wants to get back playing.
Taddy manager Quinn has already retained most of his team from last season as Lebrun Mbeka, Kain Rogerson, Mitch Pattinson, Adam Porritt, Jake Rose, Kevin Santos, Aaron Burn, Michael Ingham, Andy Milne, Ioan Evans, Jack Vann, Dan Hartley and Rinor Ejupi have been confirmed.
