Pickering Town have pulled off the capture of former Scarborough Athletic captain Dave Merris.
The experienced full-back recently left Scarborough and he links up again with Pickering boss Steve Roberts who previously held a role on the Seadogs coaching staff.
Merris will help out on the coaching side, but his main role will be to play.
Merris spent several years with Scarborough as captain and also assistant manager at one point. He is also known for his associations with Harrogate Town, Guiseley and York City.
Pickering boss Roberts has also signed goalkeeper Sam Riches. The youngster was previously with Barton Town.
So far Soni Fergus, Ged Dalton, Nathan Perks, Tom Alngohuro, Ben Etherington are other players who have committed to the club for next season.
