Phillips is back as Ferriby reveal heavyweight squad

New North Ferriby signings: Niall Tilsley, Scott Phillips and Liam Nelthorpe

Prolific former Barton Town striker Scott Phillips has returned to the game after a few years out after signing for North Ferriby.

Phillips, who also played for Bridlington Town, Scarborough Athletic and Hall Road Rangers, is one of four brand new players to sign for Ferriby.

The other three are notable too as Ferriby have lured powerful centre-half Niall Tilsley away from Pickering Town where he was a stalwart despite being relatively young. The other interesting aspect of the move is that Ferriby have persuaded him to drop out of the Northern Premier League and move two Divisions down to the Toolstation NCEL Division One.

Liam Nelthorpe is the third signing. He’s got solid experience and is a former captain of Barton Town and Winterton Rangers.

Former Portsmouth defender/midfielder Danny East, who began his career at Hull City, is other signing.

Most of last season’s squad are confirmed to return. The list so far contains: Tom Corner, Louis Kirk, Gary Bradshaw, Jamie Forrester, Jason Mycoe, Danny Emerton, Ben Leyland, James Piercy, Laurence McKay, Levi Tarbotton, Joel Shorthand, Lewis Exall, Jordan Douglas.
