Top goalkeeper Toby Wells is among the players who have re-signed for Paul Marshall’s Garforth Town.
Former Pickering Town stopper Wells will enter his third season with Garforth, and the fans will be delighted as he has been one of their star players over the last two years.
Also confirmed to return are Dan Coupland, Jack Lazenby and Sam Denton – all key players. Defender/midfielder Coupland is in his second stint with the East Leeds side, just like midfielder Lazenby who rejoined last December after time away with the likes of Brighouse Town.
Denton was Marshall’s first signing last October and proved crucial as he shored up a creaking defence, in turn helping the Garforth boss enjoy a dream start in the job.
The Miners have signed two young midfielders in Fergus McAughtrie and Max Tweddle. McAughtrie most recently was on the books of York City and Pickering Town, while Tweddle comes from Harrogate Town’s under 19s.
Only two players are confirmed to have departed – one is captain marvel James Beaston who has joined Yorkshire Amateur. The other is Sam Barker who has gone to Gainsborough Trinity.
Good news , Toby is a fine keeper , looks like the squad is shaping up , it’s just a pity we cant go and watch them yet
