Former Pickering Town centre-back Jamie Barkway has joined Garforth Town.
The tall and powerful defender played 36 times for Pickering in the NPL during the 2018/19 season and will no doubt form a formidable partnership with Sam Denton.
Prior to joining Pickering he had played for Dringhouses in the York League and enjoyed four years in America with Newman Jets.
Garforth supporters will be pleased to hear three popular players have returned. Local man Lee Turner, who has played in nearly every position for the Miners, continues his Garforth career along Portuguese attacker Helmo Silva and Charlie Marshall.
Striker George Brown also signs. He made his Garforth debut in the club’s final game at Grimsby Borough before the campaign was abruptly chucked in the bin.
