Steve Baskerville is the new Armthorpe Welfare chairman after Lee Carmody stepped down.
Mr Carmody has stood down after three years in post and Armthorpe have turned to Mr Baskerville, a stalwart of local football having played, coached and managed various clubs over the last 30 years.
Mr Baskerville, the father of Welfare players Adam and Kieran, said, “I was sad to see Lee resign as Chairman as he has done a cracking job while at the club. I thought long and hard after being approached to take over but I have picked up such a good vibe and community feel about the club since watching my sons play both home and away that it made my decision for me.
“After discussions with the committee it was clear that we all want to move the club forward, not only on the footballing side but also into the community as well. It is the community that we want to involve more to build the club up as whole in the next few years.”
