Sam Scrivens scored Penistone Church’s second goal in the 2-0 victory at his old club Emley AFC on Monday night.
Scrivens’ and Trialist B’s goals were quick-fire and both came inside the last 20 minutes during a friendly in which both teams made plenty of changes.
Spectators were shut-out due to the Government’s continued stance on large gatherings at sporting events, but many were able to watch on a streaming service.
Both sides had chances in the first half, with Ian Richards’ Church having perhaps the best opportunity when Kieran Ryan’s effort was saved by Emley goalkeeper Gary Stevens.
Chances at both ends continued to be the theme into the second half.
Emley went close a few times before Church rattled the post over just prior to taking the lead. Trialist B got that goal and Scrivens sealed the victory with a half-volley.
