Maltby Main manager Louis Axcell has managed to finally land left-sided Niall Smith.
Axcell has been chasing Smith for some time and his new man arrives from Worksop Town.
Prior to playing for Worksop, Smith played for Hallam where he won managers’ player of the year and players’ player of the year. During his time with Hallam, Smith played under Axcell’s management team member Dean Bamforth.
Maltby have so far played one pre-season friendly, the 1-1 draw with Rossington Main on Saturday. They are next in action when they host Ecclesfield Red Rose on Wednesday night, behind closed doors.
