Teasdale among three Ossett signings

Ben Teasdale on the ball for Nostell in 2018

Former Nostell Miners Welfare midfielder Ben Teasdale is one of three trialists who have signed for Ossett United.

It is also sort of a return to Ossett for Teasdale who played for Ossett Albion’s academy side before moving to America.

Teasdale was the cream of the crop for Nostell, who he signed for in 2018, under Jason Dodsworth and Simon Houghton until injury struck.

The other two trialists who have done enough to impress Wayne Benn are Luke Blackburn and attacker Marcel Chipamaunga.

Chipamaunga has widespread Non League experience having played for sides such as Rossington Main, Boston Town and Hall Road Rangers.

Blackburn is another ex-Nostell player, who was at Crofton Community Centre during the 2015/16 season. He also played for the club’s under 19s.

Blackburn once scored for Ossett Town in the 2014 pre-season friendly win over Bradford City, remembered affectionally because of Rob Bordman’s outrageous 50-yard free kick.
