Ossett win Steve Kelly Memorial Cup

Ossett United’s Seon Ripley scored the winner against his old club Hemsworth

Ex-Hemsworth Miners Welfare man Seon Ripley slid home the second half winner against his old club as Ossett United won the Steve Kelly Memorial Trophy.

Ripley was one of seven former Wells players – Harry Viggars, Cameron Clark, Luke Hogg, Nick Guest, Eddie Cass and Nash Connolly – making their returns to Fitzwilliam, along with the club’s greatest manager Wayne Benn and his assistant Andy Hayward.

Hemsworth broke the deadlock early doors. Hemsworth’s former Ossett Town left-back Steven Jeff’s corner was headed by Silas Valladolid-Collins.

Ossett responded before half-time with Tom Greaves netting and not long after the interval, Ripley popped up with the winner after latching onto George Green’s cross.
