Old favourite Colbear returns to Goole

Sam Colbear in action for Goole AFC.

Sam Colbear, one of Goole AFC’s most popular players of the last ten years, has returned to the club.

The powerful centre-half arrives back at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds from Grant Black’s Belper Town.

He first joined in December 2012 during the Wayne Benn era and during several spells, he has played for a succession of managers including Curtis Woodhouse, Alan Semley, Lee Morris, Derry Robson/David Taylor and Karl Rose.

Away from Goole he has also played for Frickley Athletic and Sheffield FC.

Colbear is the second high profile signing at Goole this summer behind former Glasshoughton Welfare and Penistone Church striker Nathan Keightley.

The pair, mixed in with several unproven, but players with huge potential, must give Lutel James and Les Nelson give real belief they can steer Goole towards a brighter future.
