Craig Ogilvie has hailed deadly marksman Roy Fogarty for his rampant run of goal-scoring form for Yorkshire Amateur.
The former Liversedge and Harrogate Railway frontman has stepped into the breach because of injuries to players such as Ash Flynn. Fogarty scored in the FA Cup defeat at Crook Town which goes alongside his five goals in the pre-season friendlies.
“Roy’s in a great bit of form,” Ogilvie told Non League Yorkshire.
“His confidence levels are high and he’s enjoying his football which is a big thing for him. (Against Selby) They were his fifth and sixth goals (during the summer) and he’s just loving life at the minute. I think it is a mixture of that he’s having a run of games and he’s really enjoying it around the club.
“Among those were missing at Selby were Luke Sharry, Fernando Moke, Flynny, Brad Dixon, James Beaston. It is a nice headache to have (selection-wise), but it is going to be a real one when the season starts. Players like Roy have taken advantage of the injuries situation and that’s all we can ask him and others to do.”
The Ammers are scheduled to start the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division campaign on the 19th September with a trip to AFC Mansfield.
