Danny Earl completed his hat-trick in the final eight minutes to nick a 3-1 win for Bridlington Town against Thackley, while Brett Lovell nodded home a last gasp winning header for Penistone Church in their win over Eccleshill United.
Brid had to play with ten men for 60 minutes as captain Andy Norfolk saw red following a tangle with Simon Poole. Thackley took advantage as James Rothel was soon on the score-sheet.
Thackley held their lead until the 68th minute. The pressure had been building when Earl sent a low drive past goalkeeper Luke Wilson.
With eight minutes to go, Brid snatched the lead as Earl scored a similar goal. Thackley then lost Seb Scaroni to a second bookable offence before Earl wrapped up his treble in the last minute.
Lovell headed home a late corner as Penistone began their league campaign with the 2-1 win over Eccleshill United.
Lovell’s ex-Stocksbridge Park Steels compatriot Andy Ring had given Chuch an early lead. However, Dominic Staunton’s equaliser had seemingly secured a point for Eccleshill until Lovell intervened.
Brad Beatson scored a dramatic last minute penalty to rescue a 2-2 draw for Maltby Main against AFC Mansfield at Muglet Lane.
Jonathan Hill had laid the platform for a victory for Maltby with an early goal, but Mansfield hit back.
Yorkshire Amateur were comfortable 6-2 winners against Silsden.
Red hot duo Roy Fogarty and Daniel Naidole both got doubles. Fernando Moke and Ash Flynn also chipped in. Shaun Airey and Antony Brown reduced the deficit for Silsden.
Danny Facey’s hat-trick, plus goals from Ben McCready, Niall Heaton and Finn Dovovan eased Albion Sports to a 6-2 romp over Bottesford Town.
