Darren Holmes has told his Glasshoughton Welfare players to stop the Jeykll and Hyde performances.
In the first two Toolstation NCEL Division One games at Campion and Hall Road, Welfare have lost both, but have been the dominant side in one of the two halves.
Joint manager Holmes says Glasshoughton need to perform for the whole 90 minutes not just 45, ahead of the trip to Skegness Town.
“The lads have two tough games now in Skegness and North Ferriby and they have turn it round and show us that they are worth a shirt,” Holmes told Non League Yorkshire.
“If they don’t then we are going to have to start looking for alternatives.
“The league is the same as last year anyone can beat anybody on their day and if we play like we did against Campion in the second half we can beat anybody. But unfortunately if we play like we did against Hall Road we can lose to anybody.
“At Campion we came away disappointed. In the first half we could have been a lot better and second half we played really well and could have come away with at least a draw.
“First half (against Hall Road) we started slow and we grew into the game. We had a spell in the first half where we were reasonably good.
“Second half we have come out and it has been really poor. They’ve beat us with a worldie.
“But we weren’t good enough over 90 minutes and we had some harsh words afterwards. We have to put it right.”
Goals remain a cause for concern. Nathan Perks’ goals were a key reason behind Glasshoughton’s shock status as promotion contenders last season, but he’s now playing for Pickering Town.
Another key player has yet to play in the league and Holmes admits it is not ideal.
“Mark Ferguson is a big loss, not just because of his pace, but he gives us a long throw and he works hard,” he said.
“He’s been working away. (He played against Knaresborough in the FA Cup, but) He was injured for Campion and he’s been working away in Newcastle (on the night of the Hall Road game).
“It is a big loss (along with Nathan Perks) and we have lost a lot of goals out of the side this season and we need to find them from somewhere.”
