Lee Morris has resigned as manager of Worsbrough Bridge, the club have confirmed.
Worsbrough confirmed the news on Twitter at 5.43pm and say a full club statement will follow. He is the first Toolstation NCEL manager to leave his post this season.
Morris ends his tenure at Park Road five days short of the third anniversary of his appointment.
He will be credited with turning the club around and his seventh place finish in the 2018/19 season will be remembered for a few years to come.
Morris had recruited a strong squad at the beginning of pre-season, but numerous players left because of concerns over travelling and midweek games and he has struggled to replace them.
His departure was released an hour after the 3-2 defeat to Harrogate Railway – a game Worsbrough led 2-0 in. It was also their fifth defeat out of five games.
One positive Worsbrough can take is that they have a full week to appoint his successor as their next game is at East Hull next Saturday.
