Worsbrough want quick manager appointment

Worsbrough are searching for Lee Morris’ successor

Worsbrough Bridge want to appoint a new manager before next Saturday’s Toolstation NCEL Division One trip to East Hull.

Lee Morris’ resignation for personal reasons was announced following the 3-2 defeat at Harrogate Railway.

Interested candidates are asked to contact the club via the following email wbafcchairman@gmail.com or via their social media channels.

Morris’ departure concludes a effectively three-year reign and chairman Mark Booth said in a statement he was sad to see his manager leave and said the club tried to persuade him to stay on. The statement said that Morris was “under no pressure” despite recent results.

He said: “Firstly I am disappointed that Lee has resigned but fully respect his decision and want to place on record my thanks for his considerable effort and work. I have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with Lee from day 1 and that is still the case. During his time in charge he has brought a style of play that has been entertaining and helped to bring back supporters to the club.

“His record will stand up there as one of the best in recent times with a notable 7th place league finish, the best in over 20 years and last seasons memorable run to the Semi Final of the Sheffield Senior Cup. As a manager, player and most importantly as a man he has been superb for our club, not only contributing on the field but being an integral driving force away from the field as we looked to drive our club forward.

“We part as friends and Lee will always be welcome at The Pinto Property Stadium. On behalf of everyone associated with the club I want to thank Lee for some fantastic memories and wish him all the best for the future.”
