Jordan Stocks admits Swallownest have “undone” a positive start to the Toolstation NCEL Division One season.
‘Nest had enjoyed an FA Vase win before the league victories over Dronfield Town and Selby Town.
But Swallownest were floored by Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday in a 3-1 defeat – their first defeat of the campaign – and Stocks was unimpressed.
“In-house we think we’re a good side and a good outfit,” Stocks told Non League Yorkshire.
“We play football and we compete. Saturday, we didn’t do any of that so the two victories we have got in the league and the one win in the FA Vase have been completely undone.
“The players are back to square one and they’ll be fighting for a position in the side because they didn’t do anyone any justice (against Nostell).
“The wins against Dronfield and Selby were perfect in our performances. We played football from the back when we could and we made good decisions going forward. We looked a threat constantly.
“We were tight at the back. Dronfield never looked like scoring. Selby scored two worldie and in the FA Vase game we kept a clean sheet so defensively we have been rock solid.
“But on Saturday, I would have had no arguments if they (Nostell) had got seven and I’m sure you would have said the same watching it.”
Swallownest were due to set off to Skegness Town at 4.30pm tonight, but that game has been postponed due to what the league described as “unforeseen circumstances”.
