Joe McFadyen’s double helped Bridlington Town record back-to-back victories for the first time this season.

Brett Agnew’s Brid beat Barton Town 2-1 at Queensgate to move up to second in the table.

Brid raced into a seventh minute lead when Danny Earl was prevented from shooting, but the ball dropped nicely for McFadyen to fire home.

The same two players were involved in the second goal on the hour. Earl broke down the left and crossed for McFadyen whose bullet header doubled the lead.

There was a nervy climax as Barton then won a penalty after Fraser Papprill brought down Luke Anderson. The experienced Nathan Peat converted the spot kick.

Sumalli Cissa and Alex Barnes secured Eccleshill United their first win of the campaign – the 2-0 success at Knaresborough Town.

Athersley Rec lost 5-0 at high-flying AFC Mansfield.
