Silsden surrendered a 3-0 half-time lead before Leon Hurles-Brook saved their bacon with the late winner in the 4-3 victory against Knaresborough Town.
Danny Forrest’s Silsden were in dreamland at half-time as three goals in 14 minutes had put them in a seemingly unassailable position.
Hurles-Brook ‘got the party started’ after Knaresborough failed to clear a free kick.
Striker Chris Wademan doubled the lead before Shaun Airey netted the third from Jake Maltby’s cross.
But the first half’s good work was rapidly undone. Brad Walker and Calum Ward had put Knaresborough within a whisker of levelling just five minutes into the second half. The equaliser was predictably going to come and it did when Ward crossed to the back-post for Jack Carr.
Knaresborough’s Gregg Anderson then had a header cleared off-the-line. But instead of the win going the way of the visitors, Silsden snatched the three points when Hurles-Brook struck gold from the edge of the penalty area.
Four first half goals led Liversedge to a 4-0 win at Athersley Rec. Joe Walton’s double and solitary Joe Gaughan and Ollie Fearon ensured a comfortable night for ‘Sedge.
