Owen Fieldsend’s hat-trick helped flawless Swinton Athletic put five past Houghton Main without a reply in the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Premier Division.
Former Parkgate defender Fieldsend netted late in the first half before completing his treble by the midway mark of the second half.
Justin Greenwood opened the scoring on the half-hour mark and Swinton went onto lead 2-0 at the interval. Curtis Wilkinson was Swinton’s other second half goal-scorer.
Swinton have won all seven of their league games and are two points ahead of Dodworth Miners Welfare.
Jack Owen was a hat-trick hero too in Dodworth’s 8-1 destruction of High Green Villa. His younger brother Liam scored twice and Danny Barlow, Calan Rollinson and Sam Severn chipped in with the rest of the goals.
Dodworth were leading 5-0 at half-time and High Green’s goal came from the penalty spot after ex-Worsbrough Bridge man Matt Jacobs was sent flying by visiting goalkeeper Josh Herring.

Harry Hurst was man of the match for Ecclesfield whose recent signing from Jubilee, Liam Childes almost scored a screamer for his new side.
North Gawber beat Stocksbridge Park Steels reserves 3-0. An own goal and strikes from Luke Marsden and Liam Marsden were enough for Gawber.
