Mark Maspero is the new manager of struggling Toolstation NCEL Division One side East Hull.
It is the former Sherburn White Rose boss and Goole AFC first team coach’s first number one managerial appointment in the NCEL.
He faces a huge challenge as Hull are playing out of Goole for the rest of the season and it is believed that most of the players have left the club.
As a result Maspero faces a race against time to put together a side for the Boxing Day trip to Winterton Rangers.
Maspero is a highly qualified football coach who has held academy role at Football League outfit Scunthorpe United. He is also a strength and conditioning coach and has worked for leading Rugby League championship side York City Knights.
He was working with Goole under the Les Nelson, Lutel James and then Mark Pitts/Simon Portrey regimes prior to the November lockdown.
Maspero replaces former Bradford City midfielder Nathan Doyle who quit earlier this week with work commitments cited as the reason why.
His departure has been followed by the exits of nearly all of the club’s key volunteers.
Saturday’s trip to Skegness Town was postponed due to a lack of players – something that is fairly unprecedented in recent NCEL history.
