Craig Rouse has returned to Pontefract Collieries as their new manager.
Rouse, an ex-Colls striker during the Simon Houghton and Duncan Bray/Nick Handley eras, was the assistant to Craig Parry during the club’s incredible ascent from NCEL Division One to the Northern Premier League.
He left last year to go with Parry to Worksop Town, but now returns as Andy Monkhouse’s replacement.
Former captains Andy Seed and Jimmy Williams – both throwbacks from the back-to-back promotions teams – will assist Rouse. Current player Gavin Rothery will act as player/coach.
Ex-Rotherham United midfielder Monkhouse left the club last week after less than a year in charge.
Rouse has previous number one management experience as he is a former manager of Kinsley Boys from the early 2010s.
