Striker Eli Hey has become the latest ex-player to return to Pontefract Collieries for the Craig Rouse era.
Rouse has promised to bring back an influx on old boys after replacing Andy Monkhouse in the hot-seat. Andy Seed and Jimmy Williams have also made a comeback as Rouse’s assistants.
Hey was a key striker during the 2017/18 Toolstation NCEL Premier Division title-winning campaign.
He scored 25 times for Ponte in the NPL, but injury prevented him playing a role during the late stages of that season and he’s since had spells with Brighouse Town, Colne and Eccleshill United.
Although he does not expect the season to restart, Rouse is busy ensuring he has a squad ready just in case of an unexpected resurrection of the campaign.
Hey is due to be one of several signings over the coming weeks.
