Swallownest have appointed interim boss Alex Nightingale as their new manager.
Nightingale replaced Jordan Stocks in the hot-seat after Stocks was forced to resign following his bizarre lifetime from his own ground.
Nightingale, a player under Stocks, took charge of one game – the 5-2 beating of Rossington Main – in December in Division One of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.
Chairman Mick Kent said: “We are delighted with the appointment of Alex and the Management Team. Since taking on the Interim positions they have shown great enthusiasms and commitment to the roles. Their engagement with and support of the players and others involved in the club has been 1st class in what have been incredibly challenging times for all. They have all had significant previous experience in the development of the club over the years and they understand what is required to take the club forward and have its best interests at heart. We feel they possess the knowledge and passion to continue to move the team forward and continue the club’s upward development.
“There has been significant interest in the post and the club would like to pass on their thanks and best wishes to those individuals that applied. Now that it is clear that the NCEL season will not resume post Lockdown we felt it was important to make a swift managerial appointment to allow them the opportunity to develop their philosophy with the players to ensure a smooth return to training and games in line with the relevant restrictions in place.”
Nightingale will be assisted by Daniel Archbould as 1st Team Coach, Darryl Johnson as Goalkeeper Coach / Match Day Secretary, Mitch Kent as Player Coach, Chris Esberger as Sports Therapist / Conditioning Coach and Adam Proctor as Match Analyst.
