New Barnoldswick Town first team coach Jacob Mistry

Former Silsden under 23s chief Jacob Mistry has become first team coach at Barnoldswick Town under manager Andy Clarkson.

Mistry, who was the subject of one of our coaching journey interviews several months ago, steps onto the Non League circuit for the first time.

Clarkson said: “I’m delighted Jacob has joined our management and coaching team at Barlick.

“Jacob approached me expressing desire to be involved in our first team set-up and he would like the experience to further his knowledge and qualifications.

“Jacob will work alongside Tom Stevens in delivering coaching sessions designed to improve our team and if there is anything to work on.

“I look forward to working with Jacob and introducing him to the rest of the team and everyone at the club.”

Mistry joined Silsden last year and prior to that he spent time assisting the current Celtic Women manager Fran Alonso for a year with the University of Liverpool men’s football first team. Alonso previously assisted Pochettino at Southampton and then Koeman at the Saints and then Everton.

Barnoldswick play in the North West Counties Premier Division and were 16th before the campaign was abruptly halted before the third lockdown.

Clarkson became manager of the club in November following Endrit Shehu’s resignation.
