Former Rotherham United and Lincoln City midfielder Lee Frecklington has pledged to sign for Frickley Athletic next season.
Frecklington’s last act in football was helping Lincoln win the 2018/19 League Two title – one of five promotions during a glittering career.
In Yorkshire he is best known for scoring the goal which fired Rotherham into League One back in 2013. He went onto win another promotion the following year when the Millers beat Leyton Orient at Wembley in the League One play-off final to reach the Championship.
His other two promotions came with Peterborough United.
Frecklington, 35 and the nephew of Frickley chief Dave, will certainly bolster the Westfield Lane’s side midfield with his experience.
