Wombwell Town have withdrawn from the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League Cup two games before the end of their Group A fixtures.
The club have specified no reason and their record of two draws and two defeats has been expunged.
Wombwell’s final game in the competition was Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Denaby Main.
The news leaves Oughtibridge in pole position for a quarter-finals spot.
If Denaby lose to Dodworth Miners Welfare on Saturday that would leave Oughtibridge only needing to avoid defeat against Denaby in the final Group A match.
Darren Young’s Dodworth are totally unaffected by the removal of Wombwell’s record and they will progress as group winners.
