James Walshaw is heading back to Ingfield – the place where his incredible career began as he has signed for Ossett United.
The legendary Non League striker, one of the best West Yorkshire has ever produced, first made his name in the game during Steve Kittrick’s reign in charge of Ossett Town in the mid-2000s after bursting onto the scene as a young player.
He will bring huge experience and a predatory goal-scoring instinct that will sure boost Wayne Benn’s hopes going into next season.
Walshaw’s career has since represent several clubs.
He was reunited with Kittrick at Guiseley in 2009 where he spearheaded their attack, scored countless, won a promotion and even a national award.
He has continued to score goals wherever he has signed, including Darlington, FC Halifax, Harrogate Town, Shaw Lane Aquaforce, Farsley Celtic and Scarborough Athletic.
Walshaw scored 50 times for Farsley during the 2016/17 season, helping them win promotion to the NPL Premier Division.
He spent the aborted 2020/21 campaign with Buxton.
