Byron Littlefair is returning to Knaresborough Town to take over as the club’s reserve team manager.
The appointment is an important part of new first team chief Rob Hunter’s vision for the Manse Lane club.
One of the main tasks for Littlefair will be bridging the gap between Knaresborough’s Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side and his West Yorkshire League Premier Division team.
Littlefair is best known for being one of the 2007 Harrogate Railway FA Cup heroes who went all the way to the second round proper and gave Football League outfit Mansfield Town their biggest fright ever.
Littlefair also provided the assist for Danny Davidson’s first goal in the unforgettable televised tie.
He went onto a key player for Knaresborough over eight years for Brian Davey and later Paul Stansfield.
For his first stint on the managerial circuit on the Non League/grassroots stage, he will be assisted by Simon Swales – another well-known local player.
