Robson snapped up by Pontefract

Derry Robson has joined Pontefract Collieries

Pontefract Collieries have snapped up Derry Robson after the midfielder’s departure from Belper Town.

Robson left Grant Black’s Belper due to not being able to commit to amount of travelling involved in Belper’s NPL Division next season.

He was rated as one of Belper’s best players so the Colls have landed a diamond in the former Goole captain and joint manager.

Robson made over 200 appearances for Goole and had two stints as joint manager – the first time with David Taylor and the second with Steven Jeff.

He adds more quality to Craig Rouse’s squad which looks radically different to the one he inherited in January.

A lot of the Colls heroes who helped the club reach the Northern Premier League and establish them at Step 4 have returned, including Jack Greenhough, Eli Hey, Mikey Dunn, Vaughan Redford, Spencer Clarke and Ryan Musselwhite.
