Ex-Rotherham United captain Ryan Cresswell has joined the coaching staff at Parkgate.
He will work alongside Parkgate manager Andy Dawson and his assistant Lee Whitehead.
Cresswell played for his hometown club Rotherham between 2010 and 2012 during a Football League career which saw him also play for Bury, Southend United, Fleetwood Town and Northampton Town.
He won a League Two winner’s medal with Northampton and he was part of the Fleetwood squad which won the League Two play-off final in 2015.
Dawson told Parkgate’s website: “As soon as Cressy mentioned he would be interested, it was a no brainer for us. His experience and knowledge within the game will no doubt be invaluable at our level.
“He is a local lad who has shown a real interest in the club since we initially spoke about becoming a coach and I’m sure the players will be excited to see what he can bring to the club.”
Cresswell briefly played for Parkgate in March 2020 just before the pandemic began.
