Local lad among Tadcaster signings

A local lad who attended the open trials is among the latest three new signings at NPL Division One East outfit Tadcaster Albion.

18-year-old centre-back Kieran Burton was most recently playing for the Barnsley Scholars squad.

He actually played for Tadcaster’s under 7s way back when and he was playing for Tadcaster Magnets by the age of 15.

Attacking midfielder Oliver Norman has impressed in the pre-season friendlies and he is the second capture this week.

He was recently released from Bradford City where he was in their under 18s.

Paul Quinn said: “Oliver has recently left Bradford City and we have been very impressed with his application and technical ability. It’s early days for Oli at senior level but it’s up to him to work hard and to keep impressing in pre season and beyond.

“Kieran attended our open trial in June. We have been impressed with him since the trial, so much so we have involved him quickly with the first team squad and he has taken his opportunity.”

Former Scarborough Athletic loanee centre-back Kesi Omolokun is the third signing.

Having come through the Bradford City ranks, he joined Aberdeen in 2016 for a year before falling out of love for the game.

Other than a few games for Eccleshill United and Albion Sports, he has rarely played until deciding to get fit this year.

On Omolokun, Quinn said: “Kesi has an excellent background having been with Bradford City and Aberdeen. He his keen to get back playing regular football and has also stated he wants to enjoy the game again which is really important. I am excited to see how he can contribute to the club in the coming season.”
