Centre-back Declan McGivern has been handed a deal with Ossett United after a successful trial.
McGivern has been a regular in the defence during the pre-season matches and has obviously impressed Wayne Benn.
McGivern used to be the captain of the Bradford City reserve team before moving to America to do a scholarship.
Since returning to the UK he has played for Runcorn Town and Runcorn Linnets.
The news was announced before Ossett’s penalty shootout win over Hemsworth Miners Welfare in the Steve Kelly Memorial game.
The contest finished 2-2 after Layton Swaine scored a last minute equaliser for Hemsworth who staged a fight-back from 2-0 down.
Marcel Chipamunga and Reon Potts gave Ossett control until Hemsworth player/joint manager Luke Danville breathed life into Hemsworth.
Ossett won 5-4 in the shoot-out.
