Garforth Town have received a major boost on the eve of the new season as key midfielder Sam Barker is staying with the club.
Barker had been tipped to be signing for Scarborough Athletic after some impressive performances for the Seadogs during a trial period.
However, he has decided to remain with Garforth and has signed forms.
He’s in line to play in the big kick home clash with Maltby Main – as long as his registration goes through in time.
Paul Marshall will be bouncing this afternoon as Barker has been a massive figure for Garforth in the past few years.
He was a major part of the side that surprised many by finishing fourth when the NCEL Premier Division season was curtailed last year.
A further new face has been confirmed in attacking midfielder Jed Zanos.
The Australian used to play for Frickley Athletic.
