Reigning Premier Division champions North Gawber have appointed Ian Shillito as their new manager.
Shillito, the father of ex-Frickley Athletic and Athersley Rec star McCauley, replaces retiring treble-winning manager Dave Simms who remains a vital cog within the club in the boardroom.
Shillitto previously managed local side Rose & Crown to great success.
Some of the long-standing Gawber squad played under him there so in that respect he is the perfect appointment.
Simms bowed out following their League Cup quarter-final exit at Dodworth in June after five glory-laden years in charge which saw Gawber win an unprecedented treble in 2019 – the Premier Division, League and the Sheffield Senior Cup.
Shillito has four more weeks to prepare for the new County Senior League season which begins on the 4th September and is set to be a cracker and highly competitive.
