Handsworth sign young forward

Handsworth have swooped to sign young ex-Sheffield Wednesday forward Jordan Lonchar.

The striker joins on a dual-registration deal with Carlton Palmer’s Grantham Town where ex-Ambers manager Jas Colliver is first team coach,

Lonchar told Handsworth’s website: ”After hardly playing for 6 months due to covid and then missing majority of pre season through injury I realised I needed to get match fit as quick as possible.

“I’ve known Spow (Aiden Spowage) for a while now after he invited me come and play under him at Worksop U19’s just after I’d left Sheffield Wednesday in 2019 and I absolutely loved playing for him.

“We’ve kept in contact since then and luckily our assistant at Grantham (Jas Colliver) knows Aiden, the gaffer (Russ) and Jason (Dodsworth) well and of course Jas knows all about Handsworth and what the club is about.

“So it was a no brainer for me to ask if I could come on loan to the here.

“I’m hoping to get as many minutes as I can, get back to enjoying playing and pick up as many points as possible along the way.

“I’ve trained tonight and its a brilliant place to play football on a great pitch and top set of lads “

He arrives ahead of the FA Cup tie with AFC Mansfield at Olivers Mount.
