Mid-Week Round-Up
Daniel Naidole completed the late turnaround as promotion-chasing Golcar United won 3-2 at ten man local rivals Campion in Ash and Gav Connor’s 200th game in charge.
Golcar were losing 2-1 at half-time in the North West Counties League Division One North encounter as Campion had raced ahead through Mark Ferguson and Nicky Boshell.
Leon Henry gave Golcar hope on the stroke of half-time.
Ash Flynn grabbed his first Golcar goal and their equaliser in the 77th minute before home defender Aran Basi was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
The resulting free kick was blocked but Naidole fired in the rebound.
Steeton lost 3-0 at Nelson in their opening game to the season while Ilkley Town were beaten by the same score-line at Bacup Borough.
Glasshoughton Welfare secured their first win of the Toolstation NCEL Division One campaign after holding onto a 2-1 lead against Hall Road Rangers at Leeds Road.
Lewis Stephens and Carl Robinson scored two beauties for Glasshoughton while David Harrison’s late stunner for Hall Road was the pick of the goals.
