Wombwell Town manager Karl Rose has started to unveil his squad for the new Division One campaign which begins on the 4th September.
Former Shaw Lane AFC and Athersley Rec star Lee Bennett is the most familiar name to followers of Non League Football in Yorkshire.
He has been with Wombwell for some time and he’s back to help Wombwell win the elusive promotion from Division One.
Wombwell had sown up promotion in 2020 until the pandemic struck.
The full list of retained players is: Sam Leigh, Pete Bartleson (who missed last season due to injury), Bennett, Brad Cresswell, Jono Davis, Joe Egan, ex-Penistone Church man Luke Exley, Alfie Glover, Mark Harling, Will Harling, Gareth McDermott, Kieran Price, Matthew Simpson, and George Westwood.
Eddie Agnew is a new signing but he played for the club in the curtailed 2019/20 campaign.
