Thackley storm to victory at Silsden to claim first win

Paddy McGuire’s Thackley are off the mark with their first win after a tremendous 3-0 victory at local rivals Silsden.

Chris Lever placed Thackley in the ascendancy after smashing home after Silsden goalkeeper Sam Lee spilled a Lawrance Hunter cross.

Adam Jones provided the second goal on the stroke of half-time. 

His work down the right helped Thackley get in a position to whip the ball into the box and Lewis Waddington to score.

Thackley sowed the points up straight after the break when Owen Murphy broke clear and scored.

Emley AFC and Garforth Town were involved in a 1-1 stalemate at the Welfare Ground, with both goals coming in the first half.

A Marcus Haydock own goal gave Garforth the lead before Jimmy Eyles pounced to score from an Emley corner.

Morgan James’ second half top corner beauty secured Maltby Main an impressive 1-0 win over Staveley Miners Welfare.

The three points is Maltby’s first of the campaign.

Toolstation NCEL League Cup First Round

Ryan Barker’s hour mark goal gave Harrogate Railway a solitary goal victory against Retford FC at Station View.

Hall Road Rangers blitzed FC Humber United in the opening half-hour but ended up holding onto a 3-2.

Sam Robinson (2) and Conner Harman put Hall Road in full control. 

Szymon Czubik and Cameron Hall helped Humber make a comeback.

Niall Doran was Rossington Main’s extra-time hero in the 3-2 win over Teversal.

Joshua Yeaman and Jack Watson scored two quick-fire early goals which were cancelled out within five minutes.

Glasshoughton Welfare lost 4-1 to Ollerton Town – Jamie Simpson was a consolation goal-scorer for Glasshoughton

FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round replay

North Ferriby were beaten 5-2 by Whitley Bay – Tom Corner and Harvey Carew struck for Ferriby.
