Match official Andrew Jarvis is awake and stable in hospital after he was taken ill during Saturday’s Division One match between Rainworth Miners Welfare and Hallam.
Mr Jarvis, who was running the line at the Wrens’ fixture with Hallam, required emergency medical treatment as the game was about to resume for its second half.
Thankfully, due to the speedy actions of a number of people and the use of an on-site defibrillator, he was able to get that treatment as quickly as possible.
The NCEL have given massive thanks to those who came to Mr Jarvis’ aid, in particular to Hallam physio Shannon Brooks, Rainworth assistant boss Richard Smith and player Kieron Hinchley, and to the local emergency services for their quick response.
Hallam’s physio Shannon Brooks has started a crowdfunding page to raise money to raise for Non League clubs who do not have a defibrillator.
