Ossett United’s Seon Ripley has rejoined his old club Hemsworth on dual-registration terms

Ossett United manager Wayne Benn has helped his old club Hemsworth Miners Welfare out by sending back striker Seon Ripley on dual-registration terms.

Threadbare Hemsworth have been in desperate need of a striker since losing Layton Swaine to Pontefract Collieries on Friday.

The Wells went to Knaresborough Town on Saturday with a patched-up forward line and were brutally beaten 4-0.

Benn told Ossett’s website: “Seon is an important member of our squad but this agreement works for all parties.

“Hemsworth were looking to add a striker into their squad and Seon needs the game time.

“Hopefully he goes there, works hard, scores a few goals and come backs to us full of confidence.”

Ripley played for Hemsworth during the Benn era and Luke Danville’s tenure as sole manager before Luke Potter’s arrival as joint boss.

The move is a massive boost for Hemsworth ahead of the tough home clash with Sherwood Colliery on Tuesday night.
