Toolstation NCEL Division One Round-Up (1)

Worsbrough Bridge hero Spenser Sheppard

One of the league’s top goal-scorers Elliot Holmes gave Railway a head-start with the opener.

Dan Thirkell doubled the lead and many might have thought it was game, set and match Railway.

But two quick-fire early second half strikes from Ben Donoghue and Alfred Thompson levelled proceedings before Sheppard popped up with the winner.

Three wins out of four, not a bad start for Forgione and Worsbrough.

Nostell Miners Welfare centurion Jamie Allsop

Left-back Jamie Allsop celebrated his 100th appearance for leaders Nostell Miners Welfare in the best possible way as Ian Walker’s side destroyed Teversal in a 4-1 away win.

The three points were wrapped up within 32 minutes as Lewis Pickering (2), Anees Younis and Louis Penny-Larter had the net bulging.

Ash Bell gave Glasshoughton their latest win

Perennial early season strugglers Glasshoughton Welfare continued their fantastic opening bat with a third win in four after Ash Bell’s first half penalty earned a 1-0 success over Retford FC.

Retford blew the chance to rescue a late point after heroic Glasshoughton goalkeeper Sam Riches saved a penalty.

Swallownest manager Alex Nightingale

Alex Nightingale’s Swallownest secured their first win of the season at the third attempt thanks to second half goals from Callum Greaves (penalty) and Alex Lill against Dronfield Town.
