Toolstation NCEL Premier Division Round-Up
Jaydan Sandhu was the Albion Sports hero as he hit the last minute winner in their miracle 4-3 comeback victory at Athersley Rec.
Albion looked dead and buried with 20 minutes left as Athersley were winning 3-1 and on course for their first win of the campaign.
Muhamet Gashi’s penalty gave the Rec the lead into the first half.
That was cancelled out quite quickly by Robbie Fox.
But Pontefract Collieries loanee Charlie Clegg scored twice to put the Rec in control.
However, Albion had other ideas as Danny Facey himself notched a brace to level proceedings.
Sandhu then won it for Danny Brown and Ishy Hussain’s men.
Penistone Church remain winless after Silsden stunned them by walking away with a 2-0 victory.
Jack Normanton gave Silsden something to hang onto with an 18th minute opener.
Fellow striker Mohammed Qasim sealed the win in the final five minutes.
Paul Marshall’s Garforth Town returned to winning ways by storming to a 4-0 victory at Thackley.
James Burgess showed just how quick he is during his fourth minute opener.
Burgress burst clear from the halfway line and got past Garforth-born goalkeeper Luke Wilson who had to race out of his area before placing the ball into the empty net.
Sam Leach channelled his inner Eric Cantona with an audacious lob which was almost an exact replica of Cantona’s famous goal for Manchester United against Sunderland in 1996.
Although he resisted the temptation to replicate the celebration.
The goal of the afternoon belonged to on-loan Charlie Marshall.
Marshall showed clever footwork before unleashed a brilliant curled strike from a wide position 18 yards out and sent the ball into the far top corner.
Joe Colley rounded off the scoring straight after the break with what looked like an accidental header from a corner.
Hemsworth Miners Welfare are understood to have lost joint manager Luke Potter last week as the former Barnsley defender has resigned because of work and family reasons.
The club have yet to confirm his departure.
Potter departed before the 5-1 defeat at fancied Staveley Miners Welfare on Saturday.
Kane Swinburn got Hemsworth’s goal in the first half when Staveley led 3-0.
