Former Worsbrough Bridge under 21s boss Jimmy Whitehead is the new manager of Athersley Rec.
Whitehead was announced as Shane Kelsey’s successor this morning.
It has been a whirlwind period for Whitehead as he only he took on the job as the manager of their reserves in the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League recently.
He now finds himself elevated to the top job at Sheerian Park.
Whitehead will be assisted by Dean Shirt, Dave Woodcock and Kevan Locke.
The former Worsbrough player enjoyed great success running Bridge’s under 21s until leaving last October.
He then managed Houghton Main for a handful of games before the County Senior League campaign was abandoned.
