Mick Jones is set to make his 1000th career appearance

Bottesford Town captain Mick Jones is set to make his 1000th career appearance this weekend.

The former Maltby Main, Selby Town and Garforth Town versatile player will reach the goal…provided he is selected for the trip to Eccleshill United.

Popular Jones has come a long way since making his bow in men’s football as a 15-year-old at Kiveton Park.

Alongside Maltby, Selby and Garforth, he has represented many NCEL clubs including Rossington Main, Staveley Miners Welfare, Parkgate, Athersley Rec and several others.

No-one has a bad word to say about him and many managers want to sign him for his passion and enthusiasm which rubs off on other players.

One of his best achievements was his vital role in Garforth’s successful battle against relegation from the Premier Division in 2016.
