FA Cup First Qualifying Round Round-Up
Pontefract Collieries equalled their best run in the FA Cup with an emphatic 3-0 victory at in-form North West Counties League side Barnoldswick Town.
Ponte can’t get their league form going but Craig Rouse’s men are true heroes in the FA Cup and they could potentially face a National North giant in the next round.
The Colls wasted no time in breaking the deadlock.
A long ball from Ryan Musselwhite was met by Vaughan Redford who flicked the ball over the Barnoldswick goalkeeper before placing it into the empty net.
Pontefract were well in control by half-time as before the interval, Scott Brown fired home after a Spencer Clarke had teed him up.
A Redford penalty nine minutes from time sealed the win.

Jack Bulless’ second half equaliser rescued a replay for Brett Agnew’s Bridlington Town who drew 1-1 at higher league Atherton Collieries
The afternoon began disastrously for Brid as Scott Sephton scored for Atherton after 37 seconds.
But Brid refused to be beaten and Bulless leapt to score with a bullet header from a corner.
Brid will host Atherton on Tuesday night in the replay.
The FA Cup dream is over for Liversedge who went down 2-0 at Runcorn Linnets.
Sedge’s afternoon became difficult on the stroke of half-time as Jack Stockdill was shown two yellow cards in quick succession.
That said, ‘Sedge still had chances before Runcorn took the lead on 64 minutes through Ryan Brooke.
‘Sedge pushed for an equaliser but the game fell away from them when Brooke scored again with five minutes to go.
The defeat was further compounded by Joe Walton’s last minute red card.
