Carlton Carty was the late hero as in-form Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915 stunned ambitious Wakefield AFC.

Jon Wragg’s men snatched a 2-1 victory at Hillsborough College, condemning Wakefield to their first defeat of the season.

Ecclesfield had to come from behind as former Liversedge wide-man Red Bates put Wakefield ahead at the interval.

Carty won it for his side in the second half with both goals, including a penalty.

Matt Semley scored twice for Houghton Main

Matt Semley and Harry Steeple hit doubles as Houghton Main finally got their first win of the season with the 4-1 defeat of Jubilee Sports.

Jubilee’s goal-scorer was Craig Senior.

The game had two red cards – Houghton’s Steven Crossland was sent off, along with Jubilee’s Connor McMain.

Deadly Dodworth duo Liam Owen (right) and Calan Rollinson (left) carved a blazing trail of destruction on North Gawber

Dodworth Miners Welfare swept ten man North Gawber aside in a 3-0 home victory.

Goal machine Calan Rollinson was like a greyhound as he beat the offside trap in the build-up to the first goal.

Maybe he has been watching YouTube videos as he brought the ball down in the same exquisite manner that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry did on a regular basis during the early 2000s.

Once he had it under control, he rounded the Gawber goalkeeper and scored.

Young Rollinson then won a penalty for the second goal – a spot kick that team-mate Liam Owen converted.

Owen sealed the win with a left-footed effort from the edge of the penalty area.

Gawber’s Liam O’Brien was sent off for dissent.

Ryan Doxey was the 95th minute hero for Swinton Athletic who won 4-3 at Sheffield Town.

Justin Greenwood had scored a first half hat-trick for Swinton but Sheffield pushed them all the way to the finish.

Wombwell Main were beaten 3-2 at Oughtibridge

Hepworth United won 2-0 against High Green Villa.
